biography

meBeing born in the mid 70īs in Eastern Germany and growing up with the music of Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Genesis, Led Zeppelin etc. set the base for a future interest in making music.
Especially the dirty sound of a small home computer named Commodore 64 arouse an extraordinary enthusiasm for electronical sounds. Additionally the first radio shows, emerging in the east, with partially electronic music intensified it. In the early 90īs the first own tracks were produced using AMIGA 500 and Sound/ProTracker. Later PC and synthesizer/sampler replaced that old setup (see also GEAR).
Playing the drums in the punkband PINKELPAUSE (PEE BREAK) which was formed in 1992, was a further musical experience. In 1998, after a MatroschkaEffektfew exchanges of members, the band was renamed to MATROSCHKAEFFEKT (there is probably no appropriate english translation for this name). A guitarist's leaving was the reason for switching from playing drums to programming beats and sequences using computer and synthesizers. The music of MATROSCHKAEFFEKT could be described as electro-punk-rock in broadest sense.
However, the most time-intensive project has been and still is TTx, a project that includes solo productions as well as creating music with guest musicians like female vocalists, bassists, guitarists or other electro freaks.
The music is not produced in the usual way of composing. It rather is a kind of sound design or experimenting with audio space. There has never been any kind of musical education. The roots originate in the sounds of the bands mentioned above. Many influences derive from musicians like Aphex Twin, Orbital or Autechre, also from jazz and of course early punk rock. Itīs hard to precisely name the style …check MUSIC, too.
